I Am Mother

I Am Mother is a 2019 Australian science fiction thriller directed by Grant Sputore. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the film follows a teenage girl raised by a maternal robot in a high-tech underground bunker designed to repopulate Earth. As Concept Artist and Graphic Designer, I worked under Production Designer Hugh Bateup and closely with Art Director Adam Wheatley to help visualise the film’s design language from the earliest stages. Based on Hugh’s briefs, I developed key art, screen graphics, props, and set dressing that shaped the sterile yet sophisticated world of the bunker - integrating minimalist interfaces and visual details that reflected the film’s themes of artificial intelligence, isolation, and control.
