The Narrow Road to the Deep North

The Narrow Road to the Deep North is a five-part Australian miniseries directed by Justin Kurzel, adapted from Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize–winning novel. Released in 2025, the series follows the life of Dorrigo Evans, an Australian Army surgeon and World War II prisoner of war, across three defining chapters of his life. As a Concept Artist, I worked under Production Designer Alice Babidge and Art Director Anthea Hodge to help shape the visual tone of the series. My work focused on visualising the POW camp, including the barracks and cholera tents, capturing both the harsh physical conditions and the emotional weight of the story’s wartime setting.
